The No Questions Asked rule was a major storyline in the episode No Questions Asked.
The No Questions Asked Rules[]
The no questions asked rule is a rule that has been made up by the the gang unlike being made up by Barney or Marshall like "The Three Days Rule", "The Platinum Rule" or like Marshall's rule that only he or someone he grants permission is allowed to use the term "Lawyered" or and takes on it. The premise of it is that one of the gang has to do a favor for another member without having to explain why hence the 'no questions asked'
Use of the rule by the gang[]
- Marshall uses the rule in the episode "No Questions Asked" to delete the message sent by Daphne to Lily about his recent judgeship offer. He uses the time that Ted was stuck in the mailbox to get him to delete the message.
- The time Barney had to be signed out of the hospital for eating real life lucky charms after a bet.
- And the time Robin was chased by mysterious people with weapons in brightly coloured leotards.
- Ted Mosby used the no questions asked rule to get lily to destroy her phone before she could see the message by stating that she had used it asking him to free her after being held hostage by her kindergarten class.
- Marshall wouldn't use the rule on Lily as he had always told her the truth for example when she had to bail him out of jail repeatedly for tackling Russell Brand thinking he was Bigfoot and the time he turned the TV set into a robot.
