Comments6"One of New York's grandest old hotels. In its heyday, it was the New York home to kings and queens. But lately...mostly just queens."

The Arcadian was an old hotel in downtown Manhattan designed by John Clifford Larrabee. It was torn down to make way for the new GNB headquarters. (Challenge Accepted)
History
Edit
The Arcadian features neoclassical fenestration (Subway Wars), Palladian windows, rusticated stonework, and marble cornices (Architect of Destruction). According to Ted, "the lion-head stonework is iconic". (Natural History)
Because of the Arcadian's architectural significance, Zoey Pierson spearheaded a campaign to protest it being torn down by GNB. The real reason for Zoey campaign is revealed in The Perfect Cocktail, when she tells Ted that she once lived there with her family at The Arcadian and doesn't want to lose all those good memories.
Despite Zoey's desperate attempts to save the Arcadian, it is demolished by GNB. (Landmarks)

Tenants
Edit
- In The Perfect Cocktail, Zoey tells Ted she used to live in The Arcadian with her family when she was a little girl.
- In The Perfect Cocktail, Ted rents a room in The Arcadian to spend a night with Zoey there after they had a fight in a car while going to spend their romantic weekend together.
- In The Perfect Cocktail, the Cockamouse (now having babies) appears in Ted and Zoey's room and scares Zoey so the two run away and spend the night in The apartment instead. Ted believes the cockamouse came to live in The Arcadian after it had been thrown out of his apartment by Marshall in Matchmaker.
