And he says he lives close to where the mother lives, so they both would take the same train, which would mean something probably happens in the train and the day after (sunday) which is technically part of the weekend the producers have talked about.

Absolutely HILARIOUS. Incredibly funny - especially Lily's version of the truth. I loved the way that yet again, HIMYM manages to get away with milking a joke over and over again ("...MANNERS", "this is what REALLY happened", "[Barney walks in with two girls in bikinis] Nope"). It worked really well and I think <span style="font-size:13px;">Angel Cohn is just wrong - the whole nine seasons of HIMYM could be summed up with the umbrella story, or "I met your mum at Barney and Robin's wedding", but the fun is with the extended plots, unusual twists, elaborate on-going plotlines (Ducky Tie, Slap Bet, Robin Sparkles, Lily's form of "justice"), the memory lapses and even the episodes that don't even remotely relate to the overall story, or serve no purpose apart from one small detail and a bit of comedy.</span>

<span style="font-size:13px;">This is probably my favourite episode. Not any of the Robin Sparkles, not any of the Slap Bets, not the Burning Beekeeper, Three Days of Snow and not anything else - Victoria, Quinn or any of the other wonderful characters. This was HIMYM in a nutshell: hilarious comedy, misrememberings and different perceptions, ongoing minor continuity things (in this case, "eating a sandwich"), plot advancements (if minor ones). Kudos to the writers - this episode just aired in the UK and I hope the next few are just as brilliant and incredible as this one.</span>

My theory is, the mother is in grad school. She is 25/26 years old. And they almost have a conversation at the wedding, but Ted gets pulled away by Marshall and Barney for a bro'tastic picture. And I think they will talk the entire train ride back to manhattan, BUT she'll be super hard to get and knowing Ted, he won't give up. He'll make her laugh, she'll still resist, but the twist is she'll ask for his number and he'll never get her number, making it interesting in how he has to find her and talk to her again. I can totally seeing that being a plot line for episode two!

Yeah why would the mother be getting the train to Chicago? It's been confirmed that they don't meet until the train station, but I'll maintain what I thought before. The last line of the series is: "Hi, I'm Ted," and then cut to a montage of the mother and Ted through their life

Shannon lies to Barney, and breaks up with him, saying that her father does not want her to go. In reality, the man from the coffee shop hooked up with her, and she wants to move on from Barney. After seeing them kissing, and hearing her explain that he was a boyfriend, he looses his hitherto optimistic outlook on life. He composes a video cassette of him singing to her to get her back. Some time later, in the cafe, Shannon comes back to get her last paycheck. Barney is happy to see her, and runs up to talk to her. He asked if she got the tape, and her boyfriend replies affirmatively. The shock of discovering the identity of the boyfriend causes Barney to stumble, and he storms out the cafe in tears to avoid his teasing. He is walking down the street when someone shoves a flyer advertising suits with the slogan on the top "SUIT UP!" Barney then becomes "awesome" and transforms his appearance to that of the modern day Barney. He cuts his hair, shaves his face, and buys what is likely his first suit. In the present, after he storms out of the apartment, and before he tells the story, he goes back to Shannon, and catches up with her, then has sex with her.
-Marshall tells his most embarrassing story first, recounting the time he went to the bathroom in Lily's Kindergarten class, not realizing it's a shared bathroom until a boy walks in on him.  He stumbles out and falls just as Lily and her class return.  Lily adds "And the kids still call him Funny Butt."  The next time Barney stops his story, Robin begins her story of falling in horse poop from [[Return of the Shirt]], but Barney rejects it as he already knows that story.  Victoria then tells her story.  Ted refuses to repeat it for his kids, only saying it involves a hot tub and a squeeze bottle of marshmallow topping.  Next up is Lily, telling the story of the time she and Marshall were having "floor sex", not realizing Marshall's mom was still on the phone they'd forgotted to hang up and could hear everything.  Finally came Ted.  He begins to tell "the Green Testicle Story", but Barney interrupts, saying he wants the story of the Re-return.  It goes back to the events of [[Pilot]], when it was just Ted, Barney, and Ranjit drinking at the bar.  Ted declares he's going to kiss Robin, but winds up merely vomiting on her doormat.  Robin thinks it's sweet that he re-returned for her, but this puts some distance between Ted and Victoria, who had been previously unaware of Ted's feelings for Robin.
