Murder Train is a song recorded by Simon's band, The Foreskins.

In Sandcastles in the Sand, Simon convinces Robin to play it on the news during the Adopt-A-Puppy segment.

It was also featured in The Fight, The Leap, The Rough Patch, Mystery vs. History and Romeward Bound background music when Marshall fights his brothers, when Ted fights the goat, when Barney and Robin fight, when showing flashbacks of physical violence, and Liddy beating Ted up in a fantasy sequence (respectively).
