Karina is a new, hot bartender working at MacLaren's that Barney tries to seduce.

In Girls Versus Suits, Barney tries to seduce her, but she turns down his advances; she later tells Marshall Eriksen that she's had three ex-boyfriends, who all wore suits, and all three of them were jerks, so she vowed to never date anyone in a suit ever again.

When Barney returns, without a suit, carrying an urn of ashes and crying, claiming that a loved one has died, Karina agrees to go home with him. However, while in his apartment, she discovers that Barney has deceived her; he has a wardrobe full of suits, and forces him to choose right then either her or his suits. He lies, telling her he'll get rid of the suits in the morning, and they sleep together.
