Marybeth was Ted's friendly coworker.
In The Limo, Trying to avoid the usual letdown of New Year's Eve, Ted rents a limo for his friends so that they can go to various parties together. Ted invites Marybeth, who he thinks has been flirting with him at the office; but turns out that she is just overly friendly.
Later that night, recognizing that Ted is in love with Robin, Marybeth decides to leave the group.
