They first purchased the apartment at the end of 2007. However it was only after buying it that they learnt that during the week, a nearby sewage treatment plant is open, causing the entire neighborhood to smell terrible.In mid 2010, an article titled "The Noses of New York Need a Hero" appeared in the New York Times. Although the most of the article is unreadable, it is most likely about Dowisetrepla and its horrible smell. (Natural History)
