When Ted read the name on the signup sheet, he said it was fake, and thought it was stupid, and repeated the name. Cook responded "Here". Later, Ted said that Cook was dropping out of his class.

When Marshall, Lily and Robin learned of this, to make Ted feel even more guilty, they made fun of the name. When Cook's name was later announced at MacLaren's for an order, Ted thought that the gang had set that up as a joke and made more fun of the name but it turned out that Cook was present at the bar too. (Perfect Week)
